It only happens every 4 years but this was it. Powder skiing under a blue
cloudless sky in Scotland!!!
Skinned up to the top of Cairngorm and skiied down towards Loch Ann in 1 to
2 feet of beautiful powder, unbelievable, so good stopped at the saddle
dumped our rucksacs and skinned back up to do it again. Even better - got
over the shock!! Then down Corrie Raeburn to Loch Ann- tricky route finding
in places but powder in most places. Skinned up unknown Corrie and then
skied down to Loch Ann, top was a bit heavy but then powder all the way to
the frozen Loch. Wish I new how to put photos on the site to show how good
it was.
Very long climb on skis out 1500ft vertical. With a steep and gnarly
exposed bit which was no fun carrying skis and poles. But all in all an
incredible day. Just another 4 years to go to the next one.
